day 2 or possibly 3 of transnational awesomeness

Meg, Tracy, and I got a plane at 8am from Newark and got to London at 8pm local time. We spent the night at a hotel on one of the most beautiful picturesque streets I've ever seen, got a few pictures. We bummed around for a while and went to bed at 2:30. Then this morning, we thought we were pressed for time because we actually set our clocks an hour later than it really was. Finding we had an extra hour, we got some strawberry short cakes a bakery and lounged for a little bit and laughed about how we never know what time it is and it's only going to get worse when we change time zones again.

We left the hotel to find a post office to mail some post cards from, and while Meg and I were waiting for Tracy outside the post office, two gentlemen in front of a cafe called us over and we started talking. One's name was Luke and the other was a little tipsy and mumbling so we didn't get his name. Then they ordered us a bottle of wine and we talked politics and pop culture for a while. I could write a whole seperate entry about that conversation, it was hilarious and they thought Meg and I were sexy and intelligent. It was awesome, I didn't know how to graciously accept compliments as fast as we were getting them.

Then we missed our damn chunnel, haha. Because we were drunk, and left one of Tracy's bag at the security check on the way out of the U.K.; but it was actually fine because we were able to trade them in for a ticket on the next chunnel, and we were inadvertinly upgraded to first class- holla.

We took a ride, I fell asleep for some of it, but I saw some of the country side of France. Surprisingly (or not) similar to farm land at home, except flat for as far as you can see, which makes it breath taking. We got to Belgium, again having no idea what time it is. Katarczyna met up with us, and we RAN to catch a bus into Brussels. After a breif tour and an awesome meal, we found there was a mix up with our room, only to be rerouted to a different hotel, where we are now, and upgraded AGAIN. I can totally deal with this.
